Case Study - Changing Governance

The Government of Wales Act 2006 creates a system where laws for Wales can be made in Wales for the first time. There may well be the promise of a referendum on full law making powers for Wales by 2011, but that's not where we are now.

Positif Politics takes seriously the opportunities for real change offered by the Government of Wales Act and we are already working with partners and clients to use the new system to best effect. We also collaborate with others in Welsh civic society to promote the new legislative system and the capacity it presents for change.

An example of this collaborative open approach is this presentation "Making New Laws for Wales - Legislation After the Government of Wales Act 2006" delivered by Huw Williams, Partner and Head of Public Law at Geldards LLP Law Firm, to a joint-symposium between Positif Politics and Geldards held on 25 May 2007. It provides an excellent introduction to the new legislative system.
