Case Study - 2007 Assembly Election

Circle of people stand around a piece of jigsaw
In 2006-07, Positif Politics worked in conjunction with partner company the Pollen Shop to develop and deliver an innovative and comprehensive service to decipher the most recent Assembly Election. Our web based service guided almost 50 organisations through the issues and people, providing a unique service that answered questions and was designed around the proactive needs of the subscriber.

Key and distinctive features included:

The service was also supported by two key events: a results information session on Friday 4th May 2007; and a day-long seminar on May 25th in conjunction with the Pollen Shop and Geldards LLP.

The following testimonials reflect the support we received for the 2007 Election website.

"This website is a focused and accessible tool which offers a huge amount of valuable back-up information that enables a proactive lobbying organisation like Asthma UK Cymru to tailor our work to get the best out of the opportunity of the next Welsh General Election. I would recommend it to any organisation that wants to target its resources effectively to the challenge of May 2007." (Nia Jeffreys, National Manager, Asthma UK Cymru)

"This service is extremely valuable to a public affairs practitioner who needs to be up to date on all election matters. For those of us who work in relative isolation, it's a one stop shop of knowledge coupled with valuable and valued opinion from well respected colleagues with experience, and a proven track record." (John Jenkins, Public Affairs Officer, British Medical Association Cymru Wales)

"I am always impressed with Daran's approach. I have worked with him at election time and during party conferences and have been impressed with the quality of events and products he has delivered. His election coverage in particular was very innovative and refreshing." (Philippa Ford, Policy Officer for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy in Wales)

"The Positif Politics 2007 Assembly Election Website will be a hugely useful resource in our preparations for the election, providing a wealth of pertinent information, networking opportunities and a valuable vehicle for promoting Mind Cymru's messages about mental health issues in Wales." (Claire Williams, Policy Liaison Officer, MIND Cymru)

"The Positif Politics website is an unique and valuable resource that adds real value to a membership organisation like the Federation of Small Businesses in Wales. The detailed information on candidates helps us to plan our election campaigning based on an appreciation of the individuals likely to be elected next year, and the extent to which they have a good working knowledge of our issues." (Russell Lawson, Head of Press & Parliamentary Affairs, FSB in Wales)

"Positif Politics has a depth of experience to provide reliable information for all sectors from the private to the voluntary. I recommend this service." (Roy Thomas, Chairman of Kidney Wales Foundation)

"We have been working hard with our campaigners to develop our Time To Get Equal manifesto for the 2007 Assembly elections. In previous years we have simply launched the manifesto and sent it to existing AMs. Election 2007 has made this a lot easier by providing contact information for all the candidates." (Esther Barnett, Community Development Officer, SCOPE Cymru)

"Positif Politics has its finger on the pulse. It has been invaluable in helping us plan our campaign for people with learning disabilities to get their voice heard during the election. Their dynamism, professional style and informed guidance has allowed us to make a real impact. The website, which is well designed and easy to use, has provided thorough, up to date information and a has been a very useful tool for our campaign." (Yvonne Hedges, All Wales People First)
