Case Study - Cesagen
Cesagen, a research centre that investigates the social, economic and policy
aspects of developments in genomics and other life sciences, approached
Positif Politics and asked for guidance on how to best stimulate discussion
on the subject of stem cell research.
Aware of the emotive nature and complexity of the issue Positif Politics suggested that Cesagen hold an event in a suitable venue in the Senedd that would allow academics and others with an interest in the subject to meet and begin the process of debate.
Positif Politics succeeded in attracting several Assembly Members to the event who were happy to engage in discussions and met with Cesagen representatives. With such a complex topic and so many emotive issues to consider the event was a step on the first rung on a ladder to full open discussion. Cesagen hope to build on the success of the event to further challenge and appreciate perceptions and understanding of this very important subject .
