Positif Politics consolidates position as leading health policy consultancy in Wales (October 2006)

Cardiff based public affairs company Positif Politics has in recent weeks won three leading health care accounts following successful competitive pitches. New clients Asthma UK Cymru and the Parkinson's Disease Society join the Association of British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) Cymru Wales Industry Group in choosing Wales' newest and most innovative public affairs operation. The ABPI renewed its contract with the company after a six-month evaluation period during which all the leading public affairs companies in Wales were also invited to tender for the contract.

Positif Politics was founded earlier this year by Daran Hill, an experienced public affairs professional who was also the National Organiser of the successful Yes for Wales devolution campaign during the 1997 referendum. He established the practice following significant changes in the Welsh public affairs market. Former colleagues Llyr Roberts and Susan Bowen joined Positif Politics at the outset. In six months the company has provided information and consultancy to twenty organisations and companies with an interest in Wales, including Wyeth and the Citizens Advice Bureau.

The establishment of Positif Politics comes at a crucial time for Welsh politics, with a new Government of Wales Act granting the Assembly substantial extra powers; and a new Assembly Election scheduled for May 3rd 2007.

Commenting on the expansion of the business, Principal Consultant Daran Hill said: "Our success in retaining a prestigious existing client like the ABPI demonstrates our aptitude in delivering a quality, bespoke service for a stimulating and wide-ranging health care account. The news that two of the UK's leading healthcare voluntary organisations have chosen us to provide their Welsh support shows the value of our fresh and cost effective approach."
